How to build trust

Your response creates trust.

When you choose to be centered in responding – rather than simply reacting! – you build trust. It’s a one little bit at a time thing. Done slowly. As in: effort over time adding up ‘til it begins to multiply.

Where might you find an opportunity later today to respond?

When you go to the next place where you know people, someone may greet you. Perhaps you can ask that person how his or her day was today. Then listen! Deeply pay attention. Make eye contact. Nod or smile when that fits. Ask for details when you’re concerned, interested or that’s otherwise an appropriate response.

Dare to respond.

Forge trust!
